Art from Ashes provides free creative empowerment workshops for struggling youth age 9-24. Our award-winning Phoenix Rising program utilizes poetry, spoken word, and art to allow youth to express themselves, connect with others, and transform their negative perceptions into positive futures. Since 2003, Art from Ashes has partnered with over 180 organizations to serve 13,000 young people.

AfA’s youth empowerment programs allow marginalized young people to express their creative genius through poetry and spoken word (Phoenix Rising); visual and tactile art (Drawing on Air); and drama and creative play (Casting Shadows), in a non-judgmental space with caring adults and community artists.
